Read on to see how Brittany Force wins the world championship in Top Fuel.

Brittany Force en route to a semifinals finish, won the 2022 Camping World Top Fuel Championship while Austin Prock rallied to win his second Top Fuel Wally of the season Sunday at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, California. With a standout Countdown to the Championship that included two wins and three final round appearances, Prock finished the season third in Top Fuel points. In Funny Car, Robert Hight finished the season runner-up and John Force finished fifth after both had second-round exits.

Austin Prock started the day with a victory over Shawn Langdon, then Leah Pruett in the second round, setting up a battle with teammate Brittany Force in the semifinals. Prock would run a stout 3.642-second pass to send newly crowned Top Fuel World Champion Force and her solid 3.676 home in an exciting side-by-side duel. Poised to take on three-time champion Antron Brown in the finals, Prock would run another blistering pass of 3.641-seconds to take the win over Brown’s 3.701. The career-best run would give Prock his third national event win and second of the season.

Having solidified her second Top Fuel World Championship with an opening round victory against Steve Chrisman, Brittany Force would go on to send Clay Millican home in the second round. With the win, Force matched up with teammate Prock in the semifinals, coming up short to the eventual race winner.

Robert Hight entered race day from the number four position in Funny Car with a 56-point lead over his closest challenger, Ron Capps in the season standings. Hight would pick-up up the first-round win over Chad Green. With only Capps still in contention with him after the first round, Hight would have a rare mishap smoking the tires to give Bob Tasca III the round win. Capps would go on to finish runner-up of the event to take the championship away from Hight in the final round.

John Force and the PEAK Chevy picked-up a first-round victory over Blake Alexander. In the second round however, Force’s 2022 season would come to an explosive end after an engine failure blasted the body off the car, giving eventual event winner Cruz Pedregon the round win.

The JFR teams will now begin preparing for the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season that will kick off with the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway March 9-12.
