NHRA: Pep Boys NHRA Nationals- Mohnton

Monday, September 16, 2024: Austin Prock continues his streak, taking the victory in front of a sellout crowd Sunday at the 39th annual Pep Boys Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway, beating teammate “Fast Jack” Beckman in an all-John Force Racing final round.

Prock has started 11 of 15 races this season from the number one qualifying position and took the win at 3.896 seconds at a finish line speed of 332.51 miles per hour. Beckman, driving the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Camaro, trailed at 3.951 seconds at 330.88 mph.

For Prock, it was his sixth win in 15 races this season, his second in succession, and it enabled him to open a commanding 86-point lead after the first race in the Mission Foods Countdown to the Championship. He’ll be heavily favored when qualifying begins this Friday at the NHRA Carolina Nationals.

Beckman, in just his third start since returning to the cockpit of the PEAK Chevy, has reached the quarterfinals in his first start, the semifinals in his second two weeks ago at Indianapolis, and advanced to the final on Sunday. Obviously, there’s only one more rung on that ladder for "Fast Jack".

By NHRA rule, Beckman will earn the Countdown points on behalf of the 16-time champion John Force. Beckman’s performance Sunday moved him and Force from sixth to third in the driver standings behind only Prock and Reading semifinalist Bob Tasca III.

The Prock-Beckman shootout marked the 54th time JFR teammates have opposed one another in the final round of an NHRA tour event. It was the second occurrence this year, following on the heels of Force’s latest win over Prock at the NHRA New England Nationals in Epping, New Hampshire, on June 2nd.

For Brittany Force, it was a tough weekend qualifying 11th and having race day cut short with a loss in the opening round against Steve Torrance. Fortunately, the two-time World Champion won’t have long to ponder the “what ifs” as she and her veteran crew will be back on track this Friday for the start of qualifying for the 16th NHRA Carolina Nationals in Concord.

The NHRA teams continue next weekend in Concord, North Carolina, with the second race of the six race Countdown to the Championship.

Argentina - Turismo Carretera: GP Gran Premio Rus- San Luis

Our #68 BlueDEF Driver, Juliàn Santero, achieved an important victory at the eleventh date of the Turismo Carretera Championship, held Sunday at the San Luis Racetrack.

This victory not only reaffirms his points leadership in the championship running with 336 points, but also marks a career milestone, Santero's first victory behind the wheel of his Ford Mustang.

The race weekend was a perfect one for Santero and his team. On Saturday, he took the pole position, then secured the fastest time in qualifying, proving he and his Mustang were in optimal competition condition.

In this race, Santero maintained impressive form, building a solid lead and maintaining control over his rival drivers throughout the race. His vehicle performed impeccably, showing remarkable combinations of speed and stability in the most demanding sectors of the circuit.

With 336 points and four races remaining,  Juliàn Santero strengthens his foothold as principal candidate for the championship title.

After 25 laps, the podium was taken by Santero, while second and third place were earned by Santiago Mangoni and Mauricio Lambiris.

The next TC race will be on September 29th at the Racetrack of the city of Paranà, province of Entre Ríos.
