NHRA: LUCAS OIL NHRA WINTERNATIONALS

Monday, March 25, 2024: Rain prevented John Force from running for his 156th Wally during the final eliminations of Sunday’s NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Dragstrip in Pomona, California. As a result, Force will have to wait two weeks before he faces longtime rival Matt Hagan for the Winternationals title as part of the next race weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix, Arizona.

Force, starting from the sixth position in Funny Car, got off to a great start in Sunday’s first round, easily outdistancing opponent Jim Campbell. Force kept things going in the second round with another victory over Bobby Bode. In the semifinals, Force defeated Ron Capps, sending him to the finals to face reigning and four-time Funny Car champion Hagan.

In Top Fuel, number one qualifier Brittany Force advanced to the semifinals where she lost traction about one-third of the way down the dragstrip, giving the win to Justin Ashley.

The third John Force Racing driver, Austin Prock, saw the outstanding streak of runs in his first two Funny Car races come to a halt after losing traction against Ron Capps in the opening round.

With both John and Brittany Force reaching the semifinals in their classes, they will compete for the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge as well as the completion of the Funny Car Final that will take place in conjunction with qualifying at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona April 5-7.

We celebrate a 4th place finish in this TC Pickup Final! This achievement comes off of the heels of a complicated weekend for the 2nd date of the 2024 TC Pick Up Category, at La Plata Racetrack.

In this 16-lap race, our driver, #68 BlueDEF's Julián Santero, improved his starting position of 6th place to a 4th place finish in the final last Sunday.

With this result, Santero now occupies 5th place in the championship rankings, 23.5 points behind the current leader. This race marks the second race out of eleven scheduled.

Santero and his Toyota Hilux are improving race by race, and we are excited to see what he can do next.

First place was taken by Matías Rodriguez, while second and third places were earned by Gastón Mazzacane and Hernán Palazzo.

The next race is scheduled for May 19th, with the location and racetrack yet to be determined.
